Hello There,
In the last post of the 2011 year, I find it fitting to say a final farewell to some people very close to me that have left this world to be with our heavenly Father in Heaven. First, I always find it amazing when the Lord takes someone from us, he also brings someone to us! Sometimes we are even fortunate enough to know of both such people. On October 27th this year my father passed away, and on the very same day a friend of mine had her first baby boy, and the middle name she happened to choose was the same as my dad's (Allan). Just a coincidence, or maybe a blessing from God, to show me that my dad's memory can live on through this little one in name only. Secondly, just yesterday our church lost our senior pastor suddenly, from a fall that resulted in a brain hemorrhage, that took his life. We are certain to feel this great loss, even as we start a new year. There is a lot of comfort knowing that they have gone into the loving hands of Jesus, if they can't be here with us!
So Goodbye Dad, until we meet again in Heaven, may you always know how much I Love You!

Ta-Da! I did it!!
Cheers!
I am toasting myself for uploading my first card to show everyone! I'm not going to lie to all my new friends, I got some help form my husband. Now I'm going to see if I can enter it in a contest somewhere. Thanks to everyone for being patient with my learning process!! Here it is:
This is the card I created for all my friends this Christmas, the contest it's entered in is at Christmas Card Challenge Week # 4. I am still learning a lot about how to take a great photo using the right settings on the camera and how to use light. I've had a lot of fun so far!! Would love to get some feedback from all the pros out there!!

On the Road!
Hello Everyone,
We're off to the cottage for a week of much needed rest and relaxation, especially on my part! Today is day three with absolutely no voice and it's killing me not to be heard! You would be surprised just how much leg work is involved when you can't use your voice. I also find it amazing how great my husband's hearing really is when you can only whisper to communicate, because for the longest time I thought he was hard of hearing..lol.
I think I am quite guilty for this as well, but I like to call it selective listening. My husband is quite the packer, you should see how much he was able to get in the 4Runner for our trip up here, my copics were a must have seeing as I am still on the mend and not much ready for the outside festivities. I am going to sign off early and hope to have a card to show you tomorrow.

Learning the Hard Way!
Hi There!
Boy I seem to be learning alot about myself these last couple of days! I am always in such a hurry to get to the good stuff that I tend not to slow down and do the research I need to make a wise decision or purchase. As of late, I have learned the hard way!! Over the last two days I have been trying to update some of our elecronic toys by saving big during Boxing Day sales just to learn that fast decisions are not always wise ones! I have now been back to the same store 4 times in two days to return and exchange what I had already bought. All this, while I'm sick and unable to speak. I suppose to my husband and others that know me well, none of what I shared with you is surprising. You know what they say 'awareness is the first step to change' or something like that... well, enough about my life lessons, onto the good stuff, scrapbooking!
For Christmas this year, I got a Big Shot Pro die cutting machine and I can't wait to get it going!! But I still need to wait a little longer as we are heading up to our cottage and I'm not able to take it with us. I'm really looking forward to playing around with different shaped cards!! Next on my list of things to do is figure out how to download a picture of the Christmas card I made for my friends this year before the New Year so I can start to display some of my work. I am also very excited to enter my first online challenge with Suzanne Dean - better figure out how to download a picture fast, as her challenge ends on January 5th!! Hopefully I will be able to show you all soon!!

Christmas All Over Again!
Hello Again!
I had such a hard time sleeping last night because of all my excitement over this new blog! Instead of dreaming of sugarplums as the famous Christmas story goes, I was dreaming of blinkies, and how to personalize my new blog. I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about, the way you get when you start a new project and can't seem to shut your brain off to take the much needed sleep that you need! Well, speaking of needed rest, I have been fighting some kind of flu since Christmas Eve and started to feel better on Boxing Day - which is why I started the blog; but as of late, it seems to have come back full force and taken my voice.
I know that most of you out there don't know me well enough yet, but keeping me silent is about the worst torture for me! (for most of my friends, some much needed peace, as I seem to have the "gift to gab" with no way to "wrap it up" as my dad used to say...) I am going to end on that note, just to prove to myself that I can wrap it up, so to speak, when I want to!!

Never too late!
Hi Everyone!
This is my first official post and I'm a little bit nervous and excited at the same time about the challenges ahead of me. I am computer challenged to say the least, but as they say, "It's never too late to teach an old dog new tricks!" So, here I am, with all my challenges, greeting all of you with great anticipation for what the future holds for us. I'm sure, as you may have already noticed, I don't yet have a picture or description about me, and that's because I've come up against my first roadblock. When trying to enter the information, I got an error message from blogger, so I'm trying to figure it out. Hopefully with the right amount of perseverance, and maybe some help from tech support (my husband), I'll be able to figure it out real soon!!
I'd like to thank Suzanne Dean of 'Scrapbitz' , Melanie Holtz of 'Paper Blessings', and my good friend Sandra of 'Creative Express Stops Here', who have inspired me, and encouraged me to start my own blog.
