Wind me Up!

Hello Everybody,

I have had one of those days that wind me up full of excitement with either time with my girlfriends or a new gadget that I just need to have!

In the morning I got to spend some time colouring with my friend Sandra and tried out some cool new techniques.  Then my Ipad started ringing and I got to have some facetime with my friend Jo from the Outlawz for the first time ever, it was like she was across the table having tea with me. It was the coolest thing ever!  Lastly after supper I went to my friend Char's and learned how to wind up my ribbon and store it in these cool little containers!

I love days like today!  Thanks ladies for making it so special!  Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to stop in tomorrow to join me in the newsest challenge at Through the Craftroom Door!

Feeling Blue, Me too!

Hello to all my friends,

It's that time again to come over and join in the fun over at the Outlawz in our Friday Copic Challenge Group.
This week's theme is anything goes so I know it's one that everyone can participate in!  I put together this little cutie by Mayzy Arts for this week as she is this month's sponsor and has the most adorable images.

Isn't she so cute!  The paper pack is from Close to my heart called Simple Pleasures and she was coloured in copics.  I used a MS border punch and some SB dies to mat her on. I got the flowers from Wild Orchids and the ribbon from  Close to my Heart.  I used some aqua flock on her robe for the texture and some liquid glass on the thermometer and her eyes to make them shiny!  Some rhinestones to add some extra bling just cuz I love it!

So if your out there and not at your best today, you can take comfort in the fact your not alone!  Here's the card to remind you and hopefully cheer you up!  Be sure to bring some of your inspiration over to the Friday Copic Challenge.  Thanks for stopping by!

Girltime!

Hi Everyone,

Got to spend the day with my bestie Sandra going over some colouring techniques and practicing together.  It's amazing to see how far we've come since starting this journey into copics together!  When we first started we were afraid to use them and now the markers look like they've been through the war! lol  We've been having so much fun blog hopping and watching different tutorials on you tube and swapping each others' links to great videos.  What a blessing to have someone share your passion!  Thanks Sandra for a great day together and I look forward to many more!

Be sure to stop by tomorrow for a new fun and exciting challenge over at the Outlawz in our Friday Copic Challenge Group!  I'll have a card ready to inspire you and get your creative juices flowing!!  Thanks for stopping by!

Wisdom!

Hello to all my friends,

Feeling so much better today!  I even got to put together a little card this morning with some words of wisdom for ya!  Not that you need it but it's free!

I just love this sentiment!  I have been given a lot of great advice in my life by many people but the one that always seems to be useful is 'It's not what happens to you but what you do with it' that I cherish most! Very similar to this one!  I used my new Cheery Lynn die for the oval, I love how lacy it looks!  In the centre of the die, are the leaves that are on the side so you don't have to waste paper.....love that!

Thanks so much for popping in!  I hope you have a great day!

Tummy Troubles!

Hi Everyone,

I'm sorry I haven't had a card for you in awhile!  I have been having some tummy troubles since the weekend and they are just starting to get better.  I made a bad decision on the weekend to have a piece of my sister's mother in law's homemade pizza and because of my gluten allergy have regretted it ever since!  I love her pizza so much and was hoping that one piece wouldn't hurt but unfortunately I was wrong!  I am on the mend and hope to have a card for you soon!

Thanks for stopping by!

School Trip!

Hi to all my friends,

I had the pleasure of going on a class trip with Hailey to the theatre to see the new Disney movie Chimpanzee.  It was fabulous!!  I can't get over the footage that was shot of this particular pack of Chimpanzees.  I learned a lot as I normally do on these class trips, as a parent volunteer I probably have a better attention span than I did when I was their age, at least I would hope I do!!  Did you know that chimpanzees eat other monkeys?  I couldn't believe it!  I have always had a hard time watching the circle of life stuff that you see on the nature channels. I know it has to happen but I don't like to watch it!  A must see the footage is fabulous!  I haven't had much time as of late to craft but I hope to get in there tomorrow for a little while!

Thanks for checking in! See ya tomorrow!

Little Brides!

Hello Everyone,

I had the pleasure of watching my niece Emma at her First Communion.  As I sat there during the mass I was staring at all these beautiful little eight year olds that were dressed up in the most beautiful white gowns with their hair done professionally, they looked like little brides.  I thought I'd share a picture with you!

Aren't they so cute!!  I was so glad to be able to share this blessed day with her! Emma, may you always know that you are not alone and that Jesus loves you today and for always!  Congrats sweetie!

Thanks everyone for sharing this moment with me!

Spring Cleaning!

Hi Everybody,

I am in the mood to clean everything!  I went to town in my kitchen for the entire day!  I cleared out every cabinet and reorganized it to prevent opening the doors and having things fall out.  It never seems to amaze me how much stuff we collect over the years!  I am so glad to have finished it, I can't stop going in there and opening cabinets and smiling at the job I've done!  Just think only 9 more closets and 5 more rooms...ugh!  I am trying to tackle one thing at a time instead of my usual overhaul in a weekend that leaves me sore and out of commission for a long time!  Hopefully, in the next two weeks I'll have it all done and can enjoy my crafting without the guilt of letting my house suffer.

No card for you today but maybe I have inspired you to get to some much needed spring cleaning done, or maybe not! lol

Thanks for stopping in!

TaDa!

Hello Everybody!

As I just typed my greeting I heard Grover from Sesame Street screaming that very greeting!  Does anybody out there remember our little blue friend Grover?  Sometimes I can get very distracted by the simplest things!  Anyway, it's that time again to join me over at the Outlawz for a fun and exciting new challenge this week!  Our theme is Magic and how you want to interpret it is up to you!  Our sponsor this month is the mega-talented Mayzy of Mayzy Art.  You can find her etsy shop here.  She has so many wonderful images and they are so much fun to colour!  Here is my card to help get the creative juices flowing!

This little cutie is a ringmaster who as you can see is just an outline image.  The magic of this card is when you pull the tab at the top....

TaDa,  she emerges fully coloured!  I had a lot of trouble photographing the coloured image because the transparency that lies over the image is textured to be able to hold the printer ink.  You can't see the vibrant red and black shading very well.  However, it looks better in person but I wanted to try it out for this challenge.  I was on you tube watching new techniques and found this one.  You can find it here. Biada from Splitcoast stampers has some wonderful creative tutorials!!

Be sure to put on you thinking caps and come up with a magic card to inspire us all at Friday's Copic Challenge Group.  I can't wait to see all the wonderful creations. Thanks for stopping by!

So Proud!

Hello friends,

I have great news to share!  My girls entered their first challenge at Craft your Passion Kids Challenges   and Hailey won a spot as a guest designer for next month's challenge!  Both of their entries were fantastic and I am even more proud at how her sister handled the news and was able to be happy for her!!  Hailey is thrilled about the news and can't wait to design her card for the challenge!  Please if you have a moment when you visit me today, if you could leave a comment congratulating her on her win, I know it would really make her day!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing this proud mama moment with me! Be sure to stop in tomorrow for a new card to inspire you in this week's challenge over at the Outlawz Copic Challenge Group.

Lil' Monster

Hi Everyone,

I thought I would share with you the card that started it all!  About a year and half ago my friend Sandra and I took a class by Sharri Siemens in a Burlington scrapbooking store called Forever Scrapbooks.  It was an intro into the world of Copics and this is the first card I created using my markers.

I would never of guessed then that this lil' monster would be the start of something so huge for me!  I still remember how careful I was with every stroke and I was literally afraid to use them!  It's always good to look back to where you've been to appreciate where you are in your journey today!

Organizing Everything!

Hi Everyone,

There are two parts to my obsession, um I mean passion.  One is the purchase of the goods and two is the process of organizing it all!!  Today I had some time to put away my stash from the weekend and tomorrow I plan on doing something with it!  I am also in the process of working on a room at a time in my house and doing an overhaul of it!  I tend to get in these moods where I need to purge and clean and then I poop myself out and need to rest until I get the urge again!  Nothing like hosting your hubby's business meeting to get things started!  This time, I plan to do a room at a time until the house is finished!  I'll be sure to let you you know how it goes!

That's all for me today, I hope your all doing well and I hope to have something for you tomorrow! Thanks for stopping by!

Tidy Up!

Hello to all my friends,

I had a wonderful weekend away with my bestie Wendy, and as you may have read in an earlier post brought back with me some wonderful goodies!  Unfortunately I haven't been able to play with them yet!  Hubby has a business meeting tonight for ten and I have to get the house tidy enough to present by supper tonight.  As well as get the meal ready.  Needless to say, when I craft, I make a big mess and I can't have that here while entertaining!  I am hoping to spend some time in my craftroom tomorrow!

Thanks for checking in on me!  I hope you had a great day!  For those of you who live nearby, I hope you weren't blown away in the 95mph winds that came today!

Clowning Around!

Hello Everyone,

It's that time again to join me for another fun and exciting challenge!  Come on over to Through the Craftroom Door for Challenge #24 - Show your Favourite Technique.  If your like me, this challenge was particularly difficult to come up with one technique because their are so many that I enjoy!  We have a wonderful sponsor this challenge Floppy Latte Designs who is offering a $10.00 voucher to the winner.   Here is my card!

One of my favourite techniques is paper piecing.  I love using designing paper on my image to tie it all together.  This is my first time doing it with a digital stamp.  The adorable clown is one of the Floppy Latte Designs  that you could choose should you win this challenge!  I'm sure you all have at least one favourite technique that you can inspire us with, so join me this week over at Through the Craftroom Door.

Friendship!

Hello to all my friends,

I had a little time last night to put together a card for you with my new stamp and punch set by Stampin up and my newest Marianne die.

The papers are by BoBunny called 'Welcome home'.  The sentiment is also by Stampin up.  I embossed the bird, his wing, the branch and the sentiment.  I used some blue rhinestones to line his cage and dressed it up with a big shiny satin bow!  Hope you like it!

Thanks for stopping by!

Homeward Bound!

Hi friends,

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter with  lots of good food with friends and family and my favourite, chocolate!!  We are heading home after a great long weekend at the cottage and hoping that the great weather follows us home!  I always have so much to do when I first get home that it's not my favourite time but by the third day home I feel like I'm back in the groove!  I hope you'll join me tomorrow for one of my newest creations!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Bunny Hugs!

Hi Friends,

Happy Easter everyone!  Was the Easter bunny good to you?  He sure made a great appearance here!  A day full of sugar and energy expected in this cottage today, that's for sure!  This is my Easter card for my hubby and I would like to share it with all of you!

This is a Magnolia image that has been stamped with memento ink on nennah cardstock and coloured with copics. The papers are by My Minds Eye. The mat around her is by SB and the border punch is by EK Success.  I punched out flourishes from the DP and used pink rhinestones to decorate the tips. The sentiment is by SU and I used their punches to mat it on and added to gems for colour.  I added stickles to the frill on shirt, her wings and the bow in her hair. I had to add lots of colour to her cheek because some colour from the inked image on the back started to show through so I couldn't blend it anymore for fear it would come through. Lastly, I used a bow to tie it all together!

Remember the reason for this season!
John 11:25-26 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”  I know I sure do!

Better Already!

Hello Everyone!

What a day I've had!  Last night I did some exercises and then watched a movie and when I got up to put away some recycling, I threw it to the bins and heard a snap in my back and the pain was so intense I thought I was going to throw up. I went to bed and had a difficult time getting comfortable without feeling the pain in my back!  I got up this morning stiff and very sore so I had a hot water bottle on it all morning and then took two advils and laid down and woke up feeling so much better.  It is amazing the difference rest can make!! I am very grateful that it worked because I was able to enjoy Easter dinner next door at my inlaws.

Back on my feet, just in time for the arrival of the Easter bunny!  Are you ready? I know I have two little girls that got to sleep so quickly tonight so the Easter bunny would have lots of time to make it here!  Thanks for stopping by!

Hanging Out!

Hello There,

A chilly morning here at the cottage, thank goodness for heaters!  It's that time again to join me over at the Outlawz for a Friday Copic / Promarker challenge this week.  The theme this week is ' Inspired by Nature.'  What could this be?  Think about what has been inspired by nature;  plant life,  an activity,  the environment ……you get the idea!  This is my first card as a designer in this group, I hope you like it! I have entered  it at Anything Goes Challenge Blog.

I used two digital images for my card.  The tree is by Make it Crafty and the adorable little girl in the tire swing is Hailey by Mayzy Art .  She is new to the digital scene and her work is extraordinary! Be sure to check her out!  The papers are by First Edition called 'Up Up and Away'.  I coloured the tree and the girl with my copics and added brown flower soft under the tree to resemble dirt.  Remember in school when you learned how to wrap a square piece of tissue around the end of your pencil and dip it into glue and then press it on your paper.  That's how I created to dimension on my tree.  As my friend Sandra says, 'who would of guessed that as an adult we would benefit from a primary art lesson'. lol  I added stickles to her frills on her dress and the ribbons in her hair.  I put a coat of liquid glass on the tire and tried to speed up the drying process with my embossing gun and ended up making it bubble and break.  Much to to my surprise, this boo boo ended up making my tire look beat up so I kept it!  I used a modern label punch and the window punch by Stampin up to mat my sentiment on, with two sparkly green gems.

This is my take on this week's challenge,  Inspired by Nature theme.  Swing on by and join me with your lovely creations.  No pun intended! lol  I look forward to being inspired by them!  Thanks for stopping in!

We're here!

Hello to all my friends,

Big day of getting the family ready to go to the cottage for the Easter weekend.  A bigger chore than it usually is because the weather has been so unpredictable that we have to pack for all seasons. Once we get there, it's a wonderful sense of accomplishment and everybody just seems to relax and enjoy the time away from the city.  If time permits, I hope to colour some images to make into cards when I get home.

I wish all of you a wonderful long weekend and thank you for checking in with me!  Join me here tomorrow for my newest creation.

You and Me!

Hello friends,

I am getting very excited about the Creating Keepsakes Convention that is coming up in May!  It's a one stop place that has all my favourite things!  My best friends, all stores in one place, classes to learn new techniques and time together to enjoy it all!  I made this card last year and I just love the simplicity of it!

The papers make me smile every time I see them!  I have so many negative images of chipboard with nothing to do with them.  This is a perfect solution!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Bright Eyes!

Hi Everyone,

What a gorgeous day out there today!  I want to say a Happy Birthday to my nephew T.J today, he's turned twenty and we all know what that means!  Legal in one country and not in the other.  It will only be a matter of time before you come to realize what all of us already know is, that once you're of age the excitement of trying to get in, is gone, and you become one of us, an adult... yuck! lol  Along with that title comes so much more responsibility...double yuck! LMBO  All lectures aside, best wishes!!

Today I coloured up a new digital image by Crafts and Me. I have entered in Oozak's Challenge Blog - Anything Goes.

This image by Crafts and Me is called 'Aliah '.  She was a lot of fun to colour!  I printed the digi on neenah cardstock and coloured her with copics.  The papers are a six by six pack by MME called a beautiful life.  I used a SB die to mat her on and decorated the tips with blue jewels.  I coloured some fancy ribbon with V95 to match the paper and used some purple and blue cherry blossoms to embellish the frame.  I used some stickles on her lips, the center of the flowers and some liquid glass on her eyes.

Hope you like it!!  Thank you for stopping by!

A Big Thank You!

Hello to all my friends,

I am overwhelmed by all the blog love that was given to my two girls over the past two days!  You are all so amazing!  Abigail and Hailey have been on cloud nine ever since!  The challenge that they entered doesn't close until April 17th, so it's gonna be a long seventeen days!! lol  We have already started the countdown.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you join me tomorrow for my newest creation!!
